Where Style Meets Swagger. Where We Move Different.
Hip-hop is raw, powerful, and full of personality. It’s about confidence, musicality, and owning every move.
What is Hip-Hop Dance? Hip-hop is a high-energy, street-based dance style that focuses on rhythm, freestyle, and individuality. It blends grooves, footwork, and dynamic movement with personal style, making every dancer unique.
At E-Street, hip-hop is about more than steps, it’s about presence.
What Dancers Build Here: • Rhythm, groove, and musicality • Strength, stamina, and control • Footwork and dynamic movement • Freestyle confidence and individuality • Performance quality and stage presence
From Then to Now: Hip-hop dance originated in the streets and clubs of New York City in the 1970s, growing alongside hip-hop music and culture. Styles like breaking, popping, and locking laid the foundation for what we see today. Artists and creators like Kool Herc helped launch the culture, which has since evolved into a global movement seen in music videos, battles, and competitions worldwide.
Why It Matters at E-Street: We don’t just teach choreography, we build dancers who perform with confidence and individuality.
